The “Carrot and Stick” feature in Loyaltri allows line managers to reward employees with “Carrots” or impose “Sticks” as consequences. Carrots represent positive reinforcement, while Sticks serve as punishment for undesirable actions. These rewards and consequences are visible on the employee’s profile and timeline, allowing for transparency and accountability. Managers can assign, delete, and track these actions, and employees have the option to dispute any undeserved punishment.
How to Use:
1. Assign a Carrot:
• Select the “Carrot” option.
• Provide a reason for the reward.
• A maximum of 3 Carrots can be given at any time.
• Significance of Carrots:
1 Carrot: Good
2 Carrots: Very Good
3 Carrots: Excellent
2. Assign a Stick:
• Select the “Stick” option.
• Provide a reason for the punishment.
• A maximum of 3 Sticks can be given at any time.
• Significance of Sticks:
1 Stick: Need Improvement
2 Sticks: Poor
3 Sticks: Critical Concern
3. Once a Carrot or Stick is assigned, it will be visible on the employee’s profile and timeline.

1. When should I use Carrots and Sticks, and who can give them to an employee?
Carrots should be used as a reward for positive actions or achievements, while Sticks should be used to address undesirable behavior or non-compliance. Line managers are the only ones authorized to assign both Carrots and Sticks.
2. Can I delete a Carrot or Stick later?
Yes, if you have manager access in Loyaltri, you can delete a Carrot or Stick. To do so, click the three dots on the right side of the screen. All deletions are logged for future reference.
3. Can an employee dispute a Stick if they believe it was undeserved?
Yes, employees can dispute a Stick. The dispute will be escalated to the manager of the line manager for review. The manager can assess the situation and, if warranted, revoke the Stick.
4. Can employees view their Carrot and Stick count?
Yes, employees can view their Carrot and Stick count on both the web and mobile versions of the platform.
