What is the Carrot and Stick Feature?
The “Carrot and Stick” feature allows managers to assign rewards (“Carrots”) for positive actions or impose consequences (“Sticks”) for undesirable behaviour. These actions are transparent, as they appear on the employee’s profile and timeline for accountability.
Not only can managers track and manage these rewards and consequences, but employees also have the option to dispute any unfair punishment.
How to Use the Feature
1. Assigning a Carrot (Reward)
Select the “Carrot” option in the system.
Provide a clear reason for the reward.
Managers can assign up to three Carrots at any given time.
2. Assigning a Stick (Punishment)
Select the “Stick” option.
Provide a valid reason for the punishment.
Note: Managers can assign up to three Sticks at any given time.
Once assigned, these Carrots or Sticks will be visible to both the manager and the employee on the employee’s profile and timeline.
Viewing the Timeline
The timeline offers a clear and detailed view of all assigned Carrots and Sticks, including:
Who assigned the Carrot or Stick?
When it was assigned (date).
Why it was given (reason).
Additional details are available through a tooltip (hover over the “i” button for more information).
Why Use This Feature?
Both positive and negative feedback is documented and visible.
Employees can track rewards and punishments and dispute them if needed.
Managers and employees can maintain a clear record of workplace behaviour.
